Hexagon Motif

I will show you how to crochet a full hexagon motif and both half sides , so you can make a complete rectangle or blanket etc.

Tools

  • Any color worsted weight yarn
  • US 7 Hook
  • Stitch Marker
  • Scissors
  • Yarm Seaming Needle

  • SC- Single Crochet
  • DC- Double Crochet
  • SS- Slip Stitch
  • CH-Chain

Directions on Full Hexagon

Ch 5, SS into 5th chain from hook, forming a loop

Row 1 – CH3 ( counts as DC) DC 2 more times, CH2 , *DC3, CH2 ( *repeat this all the way around until you have 6 groups of #DC and 6 CH2 spaces ,ending on CH2) SS into the first DC. CH3 and turn

Row 2 -CH3, DC 1 in the next 2 DC, in the CH2 space – DC, CH2, DC ( you will do this in each CH2 space. Do 1 DC in each DC. SS into the top of first DC. CH1 and Finish Off

** You can continue making your hexagon as big as you would like , just continue in pattern. 1 DC in each DC, and in each CH2 space you will do 1 DC,CH2,1DC

Squared Half Hexagon

CH5 , SS in fifth CH from hook , forming a loop

Row 1 – CH4 ( counts as a DC and CH2 Space ) , DC 3, CH2 DC 3, CH2, DC3 , CH2 , DC1. CH1 and turn.

Row 2 – DC, CH2, DC in chain space , *1 DC in next 3 DC, DC, CH2, DC in chain space ( repeat across)CH1 Finish off

Triangular Hexagon Half

CH5, SS in Fifth CH from hook

Row 1 – CH2 ( counts as a DC ) DC,CH2,DC3,CH2,DC3,CH2,2 DC , CH2 Turn ( Counts as a DC)

Row 2 – DC in next DC, DC, CH2, DC in space , 1 DC in each of the 3 DC , DC, CH2, DC in space, 1 Dc in each of the next 3 DC, 1 DC , CH2, 1 DC in space. 1 DC in each of next 2 DC . Ch1 and Finish off. Leaving a tail for weaving with your needle
