Orange and Black Stripes Scarf

This is a simple scarf that leaves an impact when you walk out in the world . This is perfect for Halloween , but honestly you can use any two colors and it would look cute !

Supplies and Tools

  • Size L Crochet Hook
  • Worsted Weight Orange Yarn
  • Worsted Weight Black Yarn
  • Stitch Markers
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Seaming Needle

Symbols

  • CH-Chain
  • SS-Slip Stitch
  • HDC- Half Double Crochet
  • SK- Skip

Note – You will change colors every two rows. When changing colors you will simply “drop” the color you were using and pick up the new yarn. Floating the yarn up when its time to switch colors again ( see photo)

**CH 2 at the beginning counts as turning stitch + CH1

You will be starting with black yarn and Chain 26

Row 1 – HDC in second CH, *Chain 1, SK Stitch . HDC in next. Repeat from * ( 13 HDC, 13 CH1 spaces ) CH 2

Row 2 – HDC in first space, CH1 , Repeat across . (Make sure to mark first and last stitches to keep track )

Row 3 – Switch Colors, you will tie in orange and repeat Row 2 , dropping black but not tying it off

The length of the scarf is entirely customizable ! It can be as short or as long as you would like !
