This is a simple easy piece to whip up and you can make it even larger if you keep working in pattern. I wanted a triangle shaped shawl that gave me a festive vibe for Valentine’s Day so I used a magenta colored yarn with a simple trim using white . You don’ t have to limit using this only as a shawl , you can also use it as a table runner or chair cover as well ! It can be a versatile piece.

Row 1 – CH10 , SC in second CH from hook and in each remaining chain. CH4 and turn (9 SC total )

Row 2 -DC in same spot ( V Stitch made) CH 1 , SK 3 SC , V in next Stitch , CH1 , V in last SC . CH1 and turn ( 3 V- Stitches )
Row 3 – SC across in each stitch ( 11 SC total ) CH4 and turn

Row 4 – DC in same stitch , CH1 , SK 2 SC , V in next stitch , CH1 , SK 3 SC , V in next, CH1 , SK 2 SC, V in last stitch. CH1 and turn ( 4 V-Stitches )
Row 5 -SC across in each stitch ( 15 Sc total) CH4 and turn
Row 6 -DC in same stitch, CH1, SK 2 SC, V in next stitch, CH1, SK3, V, CH1 , SK3, V, CH1 , SK2, V in last stitch ( 5 V Stitches in total ) CH1 and turn
Row 7 – SC in each stitch across . You will have ( 19 SC ) in total . Ch4 and turn
Row 8 – You will work in pattern of previous V rows and you will have 6 V stitches in total . Ch1 turn
Row 9 – Sc in each stitch , you will have 23 SC in total

* You’re going to continue to work in pattern where you will do one row of SC and then one row of V-Stitches. You will be increasing 1 V on each V stitch row.
**On V rows you will skip 2 SC in the beginning and end of row , and in the bulk of row you will SK 3 SC. Making the V in the middle SC of previous row. Photo provided
*** Continue in pattern until increasing 4 SC in Single Crochet rows and 1 V on V rows. I worked until I reached 39 V stitches across. Once you reach your desired length. Finish off and prepare to work on Trim !
Trim
Attaching White yarn, you will do 1 SC in corner, CH1, SC repeat down whole left side until bottom peak. Along left side you will have 75 Single Crochet, and 75 CH1 spaces.
Along bottom you will have 6 Single Crochet and 6 CH1 spaces. Along right side you will have 75 Single Crochet and 75 CH1 spaces
Along top , you will only do Single Crochet . you will have 154 total SC in total. SS at end of row and finish off and seam in any loose threads,
